Domestic violence (DV), Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), Parental Alienation (PA), child abuse, false allegations, and family court are NOT GENDER ISSUES.

Men AND women can be and are victims, perpetrators, liars, good people, and bad actors.

Despite the rampant false gender narratives and disinformation campaigns promoted by a gender ideology, men AND women are equally good, bad, saints, and sinners.

IDEOLOGY:

3rd wave Feminism. Intolerance towards men and family. Misandry.

FALSE NARRATIVES:

  • Family is a patriarchal structure that oppresses women.
  • DV and IPV are gender issues where women are primarily victims and men abusers.
  • PA is a legal defense used by abusive dads to win custody from protective moms.
  • Children are safer with moms.
  • False allegations are rare. Believe all victims.
  • Systems are biased against women.

TRUTHS:

  • Family is central for most men and women, with both performing better by nearly every measure when married.
  • The data, science, and evidence overwhelmingly indicate that DV and IPV are not single-gender issues.
  • PA is real, as supported by hundreds of peer-reviewed, published studies.
  • When child fatalities involve a parent or a parent’s new partner, it is 2.3 times more likely to involve the mother.
  • False allegations are widely regarded as standard practice in family court and child protective services (CPS). All parents engaged in contested custody disputes have a motive to lie about the other.
  • Gender bias can and does cut both ways.

Family court does not discriminate. It’s an equal opportunity arena that destroys the lives of men, women, and their children without favor.

However, one of the BIG reasons that family court continues to systematically destroy families is that victim rights advocates promote false gender narratives of DV, IPV, and PA. They encourage “believe all victims,” presume the accused to be guilty even after proven innocent, and that accusers are protective parents.

Through their misinformation campaigns and false victimhood narratives, these advocacy groups have successfully misled policymakers into passing laws to legitimize false allegations to make family court worse for moms and dads.

There are many reasons why family court is severely broken (being polite) but at the top are:

  • Best interest of the child factors are entirely subjective.
  • Subjectivity fuels conflict and litigation and encourages opinions and bias vs facts and evidence.
  • Judges and other “professionals” have broad discretion and limited, if any, accountability.

PROBLEM:

False allegations run rampant while judges frequently dismiss credible evidence of DV, IPV, and child abuse and award custody to an abusive parent.

SOLUTIONS:

  • Pass rebuttable presumption of equal parenting unless overcome with clear and convincing evidence of violence or abuse.
  • Investigate and adjudicate alleged crimes in criminal court.
  • Prosecute people for knowingly making false reports of DV, IPV, and child abuse to law enforcement and CPS.

OUTCOMES:

  • Presuming equal parenting unless there is clear and convincing evidence of violence or abuse eliminates most contested custody litigation.
  • Adjudicating alleged crimes in criminal court helps ensure the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty and that judges better abide by their own rules of evidence.
  • Mitigates the volume of false allegations and the frequency of judges dismissing evidence.
  • Limits judicial implicit and explicit biases.
  • Enforcing civil and/or criminal consequences for knowingly making false allegations to law enforcement and/or CPS will dramatically reduce the volume of false allegations protecting children from being put in the middle of their parents’ conflict.
